The opening for "Coming To Brooklyn 2012" at Brooklyn Waterfront Artisit Coalition was well attended and lots of fun this past Saturday. Big heartfelt hugs to my people who came out to cheer me on! The show will be up until 10/21 every weekend from 1-6pm at 499 Van Brunt Street in Red Hook (right across from Fairway and around the corner from Ikea if you need any more incentive). I will be at the gallery this Saturday working so please come by and say Hello and check out my "Kentile" sign on the first floor and my "Barbed Wire" on the 2nd floor.;)
I am starting a new venture as a "pet portrait artist"! Sounds crazy but I already am crazy so why not immortalize your pet in a fun and unique way? I already have my first commission! Any ideas how to market this would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for "models"for my brochure, especially dogs. We already have several cat models around my place.
Lastly, weather permitting I will be out in Union Square Tuesdays and Thursdays with my pop up" gallery. Lots of affordable art and super low prices. Despite the challenges of keeping an 11 year old boy entertained during summer vacation I have managed to produce art. thank god for X box! I just completed my first of a series of seascapes inspired by a trip earlier in the month to Fire Island. Completely different from some often tedious cityscapes I want to tear my hair out over. I guess it's my reward after finishing the labor intensive "Wonder Wheel". It's a nice change to be able to work in a fluid motion that comes with organic shapes and the sea. The jetties remind me of Easter Island for some reason...more to come!
