Siren Screen 4 & my art at MoMA 4/25

 Looka! Looka! Looka! Here's the poster I made for the Siren Screen Series Coney Island Film Festival being held Thursday 4/25 from 7-10Pm at the Celeste Bartos theatre at MoMA 4 w. 54th st. This is a fundraiser for Save Coney Island and should be a lot of fun. Come by for Coney films and a preshow of my Coney Island artwork in the lobby. Afterwards I can say I had my art at the MoMA even if it was only for one night! :P

Birds!

I just updated Alicia Degener.Com which now includes not only pastels but drawings and watercolors because that's what I've been creating for the past 2 weeks. Check out my bird watercolors!

Manhattan Bridge Triptych is complete!

While we await the snowstorm take a moment to check out my new triptych of the Manhattan Bridge! The overall size of it is approx 2 1/2' by 10'! It's a big one! Pastel on paper. I'm actually not done with it. I am still planning on doing some more fairly abstract panels of what's going on below the bridge. Personally, I think this would make a nice Grand Street subway art installation. Stay tuned for more panels for the total Manhattan Bridge experience!

Two bridges and an Arch...one more bridge to go before the month is over

Oddly, I look forward to January as a time to regroup in the quiet of winter and make art! Trying to get a monsterous amount of work done so I can have something to offer galleries..hopefully that will land me some shows! The month started off with the arch in Washington Square and my first sale of 2013! Sorry folks it was snatched up before I even finished it! I'm about to start the final panel of a Manhattan Bridge triptych I'll be entering in a juried show at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition. Crossing my fingers I will be selected. After that I was contemplating Grand Central since I'm dedicating 2013 to Manhattan to show the world that I'm not just about Brooklyn. Of course, I am hoping to make it out to Detroit this summer where I have my eye on some iconic Michigan road signs starting with our ol friend "Lil Caesar"
