New Art! "The Gingerbread House" Spring show opens @ BWAC & where I'll be Mother's day

Hello and Happy May! I jsut finished this acrylic today of a Bay Ridge glorious home known as the "Gingerbread House" It's located across the street from my son's high school Fort Hamilton and I pass it every day when I go for my run on Shore Rd. It was built in 1917 and made of uncut stone. Inside I hear it has some spectacular Arts and Crafts period decor. For now I put it up at Skinflints (5th ave & 79th Street) which thanks to the owner Gerard Bell; it's windows have become my own personal gallery every since my inclusion in the Storefront Artist Walk last year (SAW) more Bay ridge homes are on the way to fill up the rest of the 79th Street Skinflints windows.

Saturday May 9th come to the Brooklyn Artist Coalition in the Beard street warehouse at 499 Van Brunt (across from Fairway) to see my newest Manhattan Bridge/DUMBO painting Opening reception 1-6pm (I won't be there until 3 tho) also my young artists from the Red Hook Art Project will be there with the artwork we created over spiring break...their gallery debut!

Lastly, I will be at the Greenmarket at 5th avenue & 4th Street Sunday with my pop up gallery. Exciting mural planned for the following week at the fabulous wine shop "Good Wine" across the street in conjunction with the Fabulous Fifth Avenue festival. stay tuned &  Yes "All the wine is all for me"!!!!

Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition's newest artists:young ladies of Red Hook Art Project!

Had a fun day meeting the young women of Red Hook Art Project. We took a water taxi from Fairway on Van Brunt Street over to Pier 11 in Manhattan looping past the Statue of Liberty, Governors Island and lower Manhattan for inspiration for their "postcard" artwork that will be a part of Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition's "Recycle" show opening May 9th at 499 Van Brunt Street. The girls are using recycled materials donated from local businesses to create their own "postcards" of things they find inspiring in and around Red Hook. Postcards are actually a new concept for the girls who collectively had never sent or received one! Our first efforts were mailed out to family and friends yesterday. We will be working all week to create many more which will be on display at the Spring show. Come meet the girls and check out their Red Hook May 9th! Buy a postcard and mail it to a friend...so much nicer than Facebook!
